Stormy, the Lowe’s Calico Kitty – It took SAFER Volunteer Kim 4 nights in brutally cold weather to finally trap this kitty.

 

Stormy was living in the garden section of Lowes, and the Team Members were kindly feeding her over by the fencing aisle under a shelf. Kim literally would climb under the shelving to put out food and water for her. On the Friday before Christmas, it was a bone chilling 10°. Kim set a trap with food and quickly headed to Walmart for extra canned food. (The food was freezing almost immediately upon setting it out.) Unbelievably, just 10 minutes later, Stormy was in the trap!

 

She was feral, but another SAFER Volunteer, Tim, worked his magic. Thanks to Kim and Tim’s extensive efforts, Stormy is a happy, healthy, fluffy and safe kitty. She was taken to another rescue for adoption. She will be forever loved and never know another day or night of survival.
